Every quarter, the Gift Givers Hub features a major cause that you can contribute to. For the months of July, August, and September we will be sharing on the topic of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). Over the past five years, my involvement with families who have children with autism has moved me to join in their attempts to mobilize the support they need. We hope to provide you with sufficient resources to incite you to become even “a little bit” passionate about this subject; enough to spur you into action to support this important cause. "Beyond the Music” was the first event in an ongoing fundraising campaign for families in the NY area who have children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). Families who have to deal with ASDs often find it challenging to meet the daily costs of living, due to the high cost of medical treatment, nutritional requirements and behavioral therapy.
Many of these parents are interested in getting continuous help for their children from organizations like the Sonrise Program at the Autism Treatment Center of America but are finding it difficult to maintain, since they sometimes combine different treatment methodologies, each of which carries a high price tag.
